MEET SHEET

Welcome to the “Save the Horses” NRE hosted by the Rochester Orienteering Club and the Cracker Box Animal Rescue Farm” Currently there are over 40 horses and other animals being cared for by farm manager Cheri Roloson and the other farm workers. The property is also supported by the the Genesee Land Trust.

DIRECTIONS
The route will be signed from the intersection of NYS Route 104 and Route 14. The GPS coordinates are 43.233729,-76.97161. 6450 Shaker Road, Alton N.Y.
PARKING
Signs and volunteers will direct everyone to park on the West side of Shaker Road opposite the farm entrance.
REGISTRATION
Numbers and rental E-punches should be picked up from the registration desk adjacent to the farmhouse before going to the start. Bathrooms are inside the farmhouse and outside near registration.
START
The start is around 700 meters and will be streamed from registration. Allow 15 minutes to get there. There will be a clothes drop and water at the start. It will be a three stage start. Call up, clue sheets, and maps. It is a punching start. If you are late you will receive a new start time.
There is a start triangle 30 meters from the start with no punch.
WATERSTOPS
There are water stops on the advanced courses and they are marked on your clue sheets
ROOTSTOCKS
Rootstocks will shown as brown triangles instead of brown Xs.
FINISH
Everybody must punch at the finish even if they do not complete their course. Failure to do this may lead to an unneeded search after the event.
DOWNLOAD
Follow the road from the finish to the download station immediately after you finish.
AWARDS
There will be be no awards. Results will be posted on the TV monitors at the download
FEED THE HORSES
At the download you will receive a horse magnet and there will be carrots for the horses if you would like to feed them.
