I was only 47s back of Peteris on the split, so that's a win.
Also, I noticed that you can see just the tip of my route to 20 (the go control) where I sprinted down the completely wrong road in the completely wrong direction.
Are we looking at the same split? This looks like an incredibly bad decision by any measure. Explain.
I think maybe this is the orienteering equivalent of raising your hands in celebration before crossing the finish line? "Why take the road? This is orienteering people." Only strong athletes can "celebrate" and not get out-kicked at the end. Well done!
Speaking of road routes. I was a little surprised that none of the fast people opted for the road/trail on 13-14 instead of taking the route through the parking lot and climbing back up.

Interesting question. I suspect it's too far around and you don't save much elevation, because you have to climb 2-3 contours up to the road. And if you contour from 13 to the parking lot the forest is quite fast there.
