Chas:
Sad :(
You got an extra week over us though. ..
We should have a sweepstake on where and when the next event is.

As Andy said, the younger and older demographics at either event were not very good at social distancing not helping the case to continue to hold events. VIC has now cancelled all events for the foreseeable future.

Yep all events cancelled here - but some initiatives for print your own map and go out - either self timing or maprun

I reckon if SSS doesn’t go ahead they should just release a map each week and let people run in their own time?

The last two SSS have been cancelled, at this stage no events in NSW until 4 April although it’s difficult to see them, or any others happening for at least 3 months.

@bart that's pretty much what they're doing for street-o in melb, so archive of old maps and new course set each week. It's been put together impressively quickly

Yep, not convinced that travelling to a non-existent street series constitutes essential travel.

Last week I was sceptical, this week after seeing the behaviour of some orienteers at last weekend's events I am in total agreement

And it also doesn't give an appearance of responsibility to the general public

"And it also doesn't give an appearance of responsibility to the general public". That was a big one for me last weekend.
I do, however, feel like there is zero harm in cycling/running/driving solo to a private course on your own and doing it if you have the maps... very happy to hear more on this though if there's another side to the argument?
i'll probs be having a look at some local "suburb runs" when the boredom really sets in.
The only downside to that, is that when the hospitals start really getting hit, then cycling might potentially be a bad idea if you hurt yourself...?

I think the idea in Melbourne is that you do the ones near home to minimize any travel.
