Is it worth it to practice reflex training, i.e dropping a ruler and catching it, to train your reaction speed to the dibber beep.
I have found varying results with the method so far.

I'd be curious to know if that would actually help your punching efficiency at all. However, I would still say it's not worth it to improve your orienteering results / performance. That's not a significant aspect to your overall results and performance. Unless you're near the top of the elite results it's not something to worry about and even then I would suggest actually practicing punching will have a far greater impact.

Practice dropping an SI stick and catching it before you lose it in the terrain instead.

Definitely a waste of time.
