How is the motorised traffic? In Deeside it has definitely grown a lot since gradual opening up (though it was increasing a bit before that as well). To me that is the biggest threat to cycling - too many cars and they just carve past far too close rather than wait to pass safely/sensibly.

It's definitely getting busier, even allowing that I missed the quietest period of lockdown with the bike being in the shop. I try to get out early in the day which tends to reduce the traffic problem. I think there's a bit more respect being given to cyclists - a white van(!) waited patiently to pass safely as I was climbing the steep section on the A81 today - probably due to weight of numbers. All the research indicates that more cyclists means that (on average) drivers are more careful. Mind you, there are always going to be some nutters.
