Over the years there has been various threads if there are QuickRoute alternatives for Mac and guidelines on how to run QuickRoute on Mac.

There has been an iOS alternative Control app for some time but now with the newly released Macs it seems you can run the iOS app on Mac and seems like it it sort of works. The developer posted some details on what works and what not. Now Control does not then run on anything else than Apple products, so problem turned the other way, there is no Android/Windows version.

I've used the iOS version and especially I like the iPad user experience. I don't have the new Mac though, so I haven't been able to test that. But I thought this might be out of interest to those who have new M1 Macs. Has anybody tested it?

I still like to collect my tracks to one place where I can find old maps easily; rather than different Routegadgets hosted by various clubs. Control does that pretty nicely, though I'd like a bit more stats in the app (like race results, training vs competition).

I'm downloading the Control app to give it a try on my iPhone.

I don't have newer M1 Mac but it would be nice to have an orienteering post run analysis program that runs on a Mac.

How much does the Total Control subscription cost?

The subscription is now priced 2,99 / month or 29,99 / year. For basic use you don't need the subsciption, you can import the route via GPX.

Subscription is needed if you want to import routes from Garmin Connect or Health App or use FIT-files. Subscription brings also some other features the "What If" is pretty nice way to analyse mistake.
