We did this race out west with a long dirt road trek at night. We were doing what we thought was a “fast trekking pace” several minutes ahead of team NorCal. In an amazingly short period of time they caught and dropped us with their “fast trekking pace”. It really is an AR superpower and takes such a lesser toll on your legs compared to jogging, even shuffling. Thanks for reminding me to work on it!
It's crazy, isn't it? Makes such a difference. I think about Bruce's "just set the treadmill to 5.0 and walk" often :)
