Beth & I I looked once at kayaking there but the featured section in Barnstead was close to 28, elsewhere what we saw was shallow.

Where you're working seems an interesting location, airport noted, too. It looks like a little used area. Any idea how many walkers might walk to the point? Paths?

River in Barnstead is the Suncook, this is the Soucook - they both drain into the Merrimack within a couple mile of each other. The Soucook starts up in Loudon north of the race track.
I've canoed in it further up - boat launch just by where 106 goes across it - water level's pretty high now, but it's navigable up a ways - had to drag the canoe over more than one beaver dam.

There are some nice paths - Nat'l Guard wants to host orienteering events on the map for scouts and school groups.
There's mixed messages on public access - signs at the entrances are standard 'state property - no trespassing', but then there's a kiosk just inside the 'main' entrance showing the trail network and how they're protecting the environment for the Karner Blue butterfly etc.
