Dear Orienteering Community:
The heart of the sport of orienteering is having a good quality map in which to put on a map. So where does one go to get training on how to make an “orienteering map”?
This year (July 25-July 31) The Boy Scouts of America in conjunction with BSA Compass (the North American distributor for OCAD) is putting on it’s first orienteering map making training course (Map My Camp) at the Philmont Training Center, Cimarron, New Mexico. If anyone is interested in learning how to make an orienteering map, I suggest they attend this course. There are still plenty of spaces available! For more information check out their website
