Not much is posted yet on the meet site about the rogaines (24 and 4)--like not even the location. It does mention the times of map release and start and finish, and that SI air punches are provided, but that's about it. If I've overlooked a source of more information, point me to it. I'm shortly going to hit the road for my trip to the west coast.

So I have a question about camping. I'm a relatively inexperienced rogainer, but I think camping at the meet center ("hash house") has to be allowed for a 24 hour rogaine? Whether or not I'm correct about the general case, can an organizer confirm that this is true for this particular rogaine?

Assuming that's the case, two further questions: Is camping at the site also allowed the night before (Friday the 13th)? Is camping at the site allowed either or both nights for the 4-hour folks too, or just the 24s?

Thx.

Yes there will be camping for the rogaine. However it will be on the Northstar parking lot at the Hash house. As such, camping facilities will be minimal so not recommended for those on the 4hr unless maybe accompanying 24hr folks. More details will follow on the website/bulletin.

I'm putting in this cross-post to updated information on camping at the rogaine, since the newer information alters some of the above, and since folks looking for info about the rogaine might not notice that the updated information was posted under the US O Champs event page rather than here under rogaine event page.

Good idea - Thanks.
Also regarding utilizing Northstar accommodation...

You may utilize your Northstar lodgings without restriction if you walk. You may not drive to your lodgings - we do not Rogaine on wheels.

Yeeess, do get lured into your lodging by the hot showers and cozy beds ... ;)

If your lodgings are at Northstar. A long walk to, say, Truckee.

interesting - I'm not doing the rogaine this time, but many I have done have had a requirement to check in at the hash house / event center when you go "off" the course, and check back in to go back "on". During your "off" time, there is no restriction on using transportation to lodgings. Seems like this would be a reasonable accommodation for those who aren't so serious about pushing the whole 24 hours.

I agree with Mike. Driving to and from your lodging is hardly the same as rogaining on wheels.
