Giving a quick shout out to the ROC/Billygoat event happening May 7. If you haven't been focusing on this (I wasn't). It looks like it will be a really fun two days of racing. Only 43 folks registered so far which seems too little to me. Here is your official heads up 35 days left to register.

I think you misread the closing date for entries - it's May 4 (and late registration doesn't start until 4/23).

Preliminary course info for the Middle Distance NRE is as follows:

white - 1.7km, 35m climb, 9 controls
yellow - 1.9km, 45m climb, 9 controls
orange - 2.6km, 55m climb, 9 controls
brown - 3.0km, 100m climb, 9 controls
green - 3.6km, 120m climb, 11 controls
red - 4.0km, 145m climb, 13 controls
blue - 4.4km, 160m climb, 14 controls

Other info - maps 1:10000, 5m contours. The terrain is open woods on a
hilltop and hillside with subtle contour features, numerous ski trails
and singletrack bike trails, and many small (and often seasonal) wet
areas. Approx. 1km walk on a dirt road from the parking to the
start/finish area, 30m climb.

And rumor suggests the wily Billygoat may cross the Genesee River to cavort on both sides of the Letchworth Gorge - some climb seems inevitable....

As many times as I've run at Letchworth, I am pretty sure I've never crossed the gorge on a course. That would be fun!

It was used in the 2016 Regaine. I can't think of another time we have been allowed to.
