Discussion: OS2003 - RouteGadget ... How?

TheInvisibleLog:
I have struggled for a couple of hours trying to load a relay event onto Route Gadget. As an alternative to continuing to try the permutations of OS2003 export options and Gadget input options (I only have one life), I thought I might make a plea to see if there is someone who knows something about this that I don't. Any helpful suggestions gratefully accepted.

I checked some old e-mails and the only thing I can find is "SportIdent split file in .csv format (semicolon delimited)". I'm sure someone else will know.

Hum ... I made RG without any problems with OS2003. Just made the CSV (standard way, just like I did the RG for normal race from OE2003) and all the rest was quite standard.

Are you able to create normal RG's without any problems? Which version of RG software do you use? Well, I am sure Jarkko has the right answer for you, anyway. ;)

Jarkko is at Spain just now. Maybe some delay in answering.

I don't know what you've tried, i i now the export and the setup in RG had to be by relay combination, so there were a lot of courses listed. This was a while ago i did this (2006) so my memory is poor and the Arrows Route-Gadget broke since i forgot to move it off of my old ISPS web space. I lost everything....

Did you try the export operation under the Competition Day menu? It's masked as "saving a report". I know that's not intuitive, but that was the answer when we were trying to load the Empire State Games results into WinSplits. Perhaps RouteGadget uses the same format. Check out this link for more details.

No, that is not my problem.
My problem is choosing the most appropriate options within the export functions and import functions involved in setting up relays on Route Gadget. By my count there are 328 unique combinations involved:

XML export from Condes:
Which boxes to tick
Omit Course ID
Variations
Forks
XML Extensions
ie 4 binary choice = 8 options

Export from OE2003:
Classes Or Courses Or Legs by Class Or Legs by Courses
By 4 options = 32

Route Gadget Options:
No forking or With forking
Classify Competitors by Course or Class
All runners in class have same course or Individual courses using SI control codes or Individual courses using course name
By 2 by 2 by 3 = 384

I have tried what seem to be logical combinations to me, but the closest I have got has produced the course combinations on the gadget according to class, but has insisted that I draw up the routes for three competitors in the relay at a time. Or so it seems to me. I am close to giving up on this task.

The best result is with:
No Course Id
Variations
No Forks
No extensions

Export by courses

Import with:
Forking
By course
With courses read by SI codes.

It is sort of working, but not as neatly as I would have expected, with some errors for some courses.

I see you have published the courses.
I've tried uploading a GPX file for my course 4 run but it just hangs. Haven't tried drawing the route myself. As you drew your course manually I assume the GPS upload is not working.

Actually, my GPS is not working. There is something wrong with one of the files I have uploaded, probably the condes file. But I can't solve it.

_________, I'd like to take a look, can you send me condes xml (or what ever, it should not matter) and some CSV export file versions (Export by courses I guess).
