Okay folks, after a few brief discussions at the club champs, we thought we should try for a trail run this weekend, and then start 'real' training after the holidays.
So, who is up for a long trail run in the Fells on Sunday morning? And how early (or not early) would you be up for starting?
Of course, it is supposed to snow a lot on Friday, just to make it all a little more fun!
I am up for running Sunday (unless there will be great conditions for skiing). Sometime in the morning (9-12AM) would suit me best.

I've made plans to go downhill skiing on Sun. But if that doesn't pan out, I'd be happy to run with you as long as I can keep up.
Another alternative you might consider is the "Busa Bushwack" going on in Framingham that day. Check the events calendar:

I think 9am sounds good. Another possible option is to ski somewhere ... any thoughts?
I can't do this weekend but I'm still interested in getting involved in the future (though a long run in the amount of snow we're getting right now might be a challenging experience...)
Snow..., lucky you, we got only 2", no skiing for NYC
Bring your skis to Sessions. There are some good trails/roads to go out on, though not groomed. Or run. 14" of new stuff.
I have to back out of the run tomorrow. I went skiing today at Weston (it was great, 15 km groomed for classic and skating) and aggrevated an old injury in my hip so I need to take it slow a couple of days. Sorry...
Okay, it may be a small group - but there are at least 3 interested (some who, shock horror, don't actually post stuff on AP). So we'll say 9:00 at the Long Pond parking lot (Winchester), and if that is gated then just a bit further along S.Border Road toward Medford there is a parking area without a gate.
Then I think it probably makes sense to leave it until January ... although a Christmas Eve Day or Boxing Day run might be a possiblility. Speak up if you are around and interested.
Soon I'll be asking for volunteers to organize (and I use the term loosely) some O training. If everyone around here did one session, then no one would have to do it more than about once a year ...
Anyone have favorite maps local to Boston that are good for training?
And Pia, sorry about the injury!
ooh, ooh...I'll be in the Boston area for Christmas and Boxing Day and would definitely be up for a run with some O people...
