(A) if that's what you like doing or (B) if you think you can beat 10 hours and qualify for Hawaii. I think Belinda Brooks may have got a spot for her 9:58:51 in F12th overall? Or maybe you might have had to beat Bridget Fry for 1st in F30-34 in 9th with 9:55:30.

Of course that means you have to knock 30 minutes off the marathon (3:40), 35-45 off the bike (5:20-5:30) and 7-17 off the swim (0:50-1:00). Doable?

(A) I do like doing it. I like the training. I like the community. I'm fascintated by it. (B) I don't think I could ever go under 10 hours but I think I could go under 10:30 which is all you need to qualify for Hawaii at the Penticton Ironman in Canada. (30 mins off the run, 35-40 mins off the ride and 5 mins off the swim....on a perfect, best case scenario day). I think I'll do that one again. The big climbs on the bike course suit me much better than an unrelenting flat 180km hammer. IMWA is one of the hardest races to get a Kona spot because it is very competitive, very fast, and there are only 35 spots overall. I feel very sorry for the girl who went under 10 hours in my age group and still missed out on a spot.
