This email is a brief announcement of the COFs 2009 Club Banner Project, a very informal project to encourage clubs across Canada to liven-up their event sites by joining in a group order to purchase club banners at quantity discounts. Please visit http://www.barebones.ca/COFClubBannerProject.htm for photos and full details. Below is a brief extract from the website:

Ever wonder where to get those tall banners emblazoned with your club's logo? Wonder no more. A Canadian company out of Vancouver is supplying "Expand-a-Signs". See www.expandasigncanada.ca for more details. See the photo below of the Start/Finish banners at the Canmore Nordic Center for example of a good-sized, double side, easy to install examples of their product. These are 9'10" tall and 2' wide. Depending on quantity, these cost $300 - $450. And that's where the COF comes in - we are organizing a group order in order to get quantity discounts. If you are interested in joining the group order and buying one or more banners for your club, email adrian@barebones.ca to express your interest. The precise details are still to be worked out once we have an idea of demand.
Some potential banners to think about:
* club banner(s) for display at local events and to add color and style. Also perhaps useful at the entrance to parking.
* Start/Finish banners
* Info / Registration banners to help new-comers by giving them a good place to go to
* Junior Program banner

You can of course deal directly with Expand a Sign Canada, but if you want to take advantage of the quantity discounts, then contact me at adrian@barebones.ca by the end of April and we will work together to make a group purchase. If you are interested but can't make this short deadline still contact me as it may be possible to add a second group order that still takes advantage of the quantity discounts.
