I hope I'm not too grouchy the 99 out of 100 times you beat me :)
Well...it was a nice change after feeling like I performed a highway robbery to beat you at the last state champs :)
No, I think last year's State Champs was a case of having it handed to you on a silver platter. Can you imagine how bad I would have felt if it had been a few seconds the other way! Hopefully we will both have a good race this year & it won't matter who wins.
Who says one of you two will win?
:-p
(I am going to have to work out some sort of miracle in in the next couple of months to back that up!)
At least you have enough resident girls for a competition....
Yeah if AD is fit she might be a chance if she's in training for the WMOC and Karen too, and Kim has long legs....I'm staying right out!
Absolutely Jenny. It's not like running where a good time is a good time that everyone can judge. In orienteering if you run well without competition you don't know how it really rates. Definitely one of the disadvantages of the smaller states- it doesn't take much to be the only one left! Come over and run our state champs and put a bit more pressure on!
So, can you sell the WA champs weekend to me? I was thinking of going to Qld champs because they're on the same weekend and I love the Cascades, but flights to Perth are actually cheaper right now :)
Close to the city, new area of open rocky bush, good flowers, free accommodation, two days of races, nice people ? what more could you want?
I think that he means free accommodation - you can stay with us if you like! And WA in Spring is beautiful...
Good company & competition, training for Easter 2011, more free accommodation, $15 per day entry fee, lots of kids to play with, & as I said above - I REALLY don't care who wins (this includes you too Jen!).
No I would not want to win. Because it would mean at least four other people have broken legs and I wouldn't wish that on anyone, not even for a badge.
I'd go to Queensland.
I hope Bells Rapids is going to be nice but I can't imagine it coming close to Cascades and Dalmoak.
Traitor. I hope the setters make you run up the hill.
Are you going to tell me I'm wrong?
No, because I've never been to Cascades or Dalmoak. But your post is sadly lacking in one-eyed parochialism, which makes it ill-suited to either WA or Queensland. :)
Actually I love Kooyoora even more than Cascades but I can't go there next weekend because someone has to be controller for the MTBO nationals (I don't even ride). Therefore I can't come west for the Aust champs rogaine either :(
Have you had any Qld'ers begging for you to come there yet? It has to be nice to have your company so sought after? I suspect Bells Rapids is not going to compare with Cascades (not much can) but I'm sure you'd have fun over here and probably have a better chance of winning! (Apologies Jen)
Thanks for all the kind offers guys! There is the minor matter of the fact that I'm rostered to work that weekend, I've just realised. Should be easy enough to swap. You don't want me to try and recruit Sus as well? She'd probably distort the bell-curve though...
Our bell curve needs shaking up!
Of course it'd be great to have Sus too!
And she can come direct from Darwin!
