Discussion: Toughness of the trek

Just so you know Jim Mandelli, Lawrence Foster, Benoit Letourneau (sp?), and I all brought up the difficulty of this trek to Bob. It was the combination of thick relentless bush, bugs, heat and humidity. The only positive was the lack of vertical - that would have destroyed almost all of us. I have trekked similar death marches before (sans bugs) but was rewarded for it with alpine views or such. In this case, it was all pure work and required some immense fortitude to progress. Congratulations on making it through one of the toughest treks possible.
