I know this might be an overdone topic, but this link (http://saveyourself.ca/articles/stretching.php) was conveniently provided by my brother.

This summary doesn't necessarily reflect my beliefs (slightly more positve), or practices (I do some post workout stretching). It wouldn't surprise me if this summary is slighly incomplete in support of its anti-stretching theme, but it strikes me as a reasonable one-stop summary of the issues, with references and documentation if you care to learn more.

From this I learned a new term "mobilizing" to describe active range-of-motion exercises, which I have believed in for a while (but not practiced) before I ever had a name for it.
