The US Rankings website has been updated to include the following:
- Preliminary 2009 Year-End rankings
- The criteria for selection to the 2010 US JWOC team
- A list of the Canadian events that will be included in the 2010 US Rankings

Please email me if you have any questions.

For 2009, there is a new option for a "virtual" rankings patch. Some people may get an error when they enter their information that says that they didn't enter all of their information, though your request did go through correctly. You'll get a confirmation email for each attempt. We are working on this issue.

Thank you all for the effort. I notice that we have some young top M20 orienteers. The average age of the top 6 M20 runners is 17 years. That's a bit unusual if you look at the history of these rankings.

Trying to make the US JWOC team seems to be motivating many of the US junior orienteers.

Yep Yep Yep! If we have to run up then we have to run up. I've even run up two categories in order to not touch my green rankings and yet still get in the hard training. Good luck to everyone in 2010 and thank you to the Committee for all the wonderful work you do to put out the rankings.

A reminder that the deadline for submitting corrections to the 2009 Year-End rankings is this Thursday, Jan. 21. The rankings can be found at:

http://www.usof-rankings.org/

Also, note that we have instituted a "virtual patch" option for those who have qualified for gold, silver or bronze rankings patches. Details can be found on the above website. If you are selecting this option, please do so by Thursday, Jan. 28. Thanks.

Please email me if you have any questions.

FYI, I got a "some required data is missing" error when I tried to complete the virtual patch form, even though I filled out all the fields.

Phooey...I thought we had that bug fixed. I'll check. Your info did come through though. Thanks.

The form seems to need to be awakened. First time I got the same message, but it then accepted me for subsequent entries.

Ditto (what walk wrote).

But a good idea--the virtual patch.

It seems an even better idea--imho--would be to scrap the patch altogether and use the money for something else. However, it could very well be it does good things for USOF far beyond what I imagine. Glad I'm not the Decider!
