To all,

We are in the process of creating a new USOF website. Late last year, we conducted a survey that included content questions about this new site.

We need your (and your friends) final comments to wrap this part of the project up.

Soon the survey will be posted on www.us.orienteering.org.

Responses are due to me by April 12th. Sorry for the quick turn but we have gathered a lot of information already.

Sincerely,
Glen

Speaking of surveys, there was a USOF member benefits/ONA survey back in February. Are the results of that available somewhere? Maybe I just missed it.

For those who are interested, I've posted the survey link on the home page of the USOF site, under the note referenced above (which is not really a survey but a request for most-needed features of the new site).

Eddie,

Thanks for the note. The survey is complete + the mail in portion as well. As I have been busy with the strategic plan, website, logo etc., I have not had the opportunity to post the results.

This will be done in late April once I return from the road.

Hope to see you at the Flying Pig.

Glen, since USOF has posted survey results in the past, I took the liberty of posting the document you sent me mid-March. I see no reason to wait until late April.

Folks, I jumped the gun on posting the survey results.

I'm informed that the data in the current document isn't complete because it only includes results of the online survey, not responses that were mailed in. I have removed the link from the home page.

The document Janet posted yesterday was a subset of the 2009 survey questions (all the ones regarding the USOF website, and one about ONA electronic publication), plus some USOF membership demographics from the 2007-2008 survey. That is, all the information most useful to Janet the USOF webmaster, and only from those 250 people who answered the survey online (apparently). This covered only 7 of the 21 questions in the 2009 survey. For reference, the survey is the centerfold of the Jan/Feb 2010 ONA.

Glen, it would be really nice to get the results of the 2009 survey ahead of the April Board meeting at the Flying Pig (Sun, April 10). That is, early next week so we have time to read and digest it before the meeting.

Eddie,

Thanks for the post. While all of the information has been collected, the final analysis has not been completed. With other pressing issues plus preparing for a week plus long trip, it will not be completed until I return (as noted above.)

Thanks for your interest.

Glen, can we please have the raw numbers now, ahead of the Board meeting. Analysis is less important than the raw data at this point. A simple ascii file with numbers would be fine, or any other format that is handy.

Eddie,

Because the raw numbers are coming from two different sources, they are not combined. Actually one of the sources are the individual surveys that have not been tabulated (so that is multiple surveys).

To provide the web only would ignore the voice of an important constituency. A step I am not willing to take.

As I said above, I will release later in the month.

Sorry.

Glen
