ISOA:
The Maccabiah Games is an international Jewish athletic event similar to the Olympics, which is held every four years in Israel under the auspices of the Maccabi World Union. More than 6000 Jewish athletes from all over the world participated in the last Maccabiah in July 2009.

Competitive orienteering has never been included in the Maccabiah, and we are now working to make that happen for the first time at the 2013 Maccabiah Games.

The Israel Sport Orienteering Association (ISOA) has experience in organizing IOF international events, such as the 1998 IOF International Congress in Jerusalem, and last summer’s 2009 MTBO World Orienteering Championship in Israel.

We know there are Jewish orienteers in many countries and we are trying to contact them as quickly as possible. If you know any Jewish orienteers in your country, or living anywhere outside Israel, please forward this message to them, or send us their contact details.

We ask you to register yourself as an orienteer with the nearest Maccabi organization in your country. Also, please reply us by mail or email, giving us your name, home address, email, age and gender.

We will add you to the list of potential competitors, and keep you updated about our progress in introducing orienteering at the 19th Maccabiah Games.

Your help is greatly appreciated. We hope to see you at the next Maccabiah Games.
