I know we spoke briefly about the winter race in Poland next year; if you're in the market for a strong teammate Staffan Kallback, one of our staff up in New England (and captain of the Häglofs team at PQ, veteran of races all over the world), might be interested. He's a way better skier than me and coming from Switzerland it's not such a long trip to get to Poland.

Let me know if you're still considering the race

2012 is a nice year too.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm definitely interested in Poland, but the rest of my team is less enthused. Will have to think about it and see if I can talk a few of them into considering it. Are you going to go to Ecuador?

I am going to Ecuador (but you may have been asking Barb?). The winter race would require more snow-specific training for me, and I won't have the time for that here (I can't just ski out our apartment, for example). I really like
South America and, the clincher, I have 3 of my regular teammates jazzed about the Andean mountains.

He was definitely asking you, Grant. I'll be racing in New Zealand in February. Ecuador sounds awesome - have a great time!

@Untamed: Very cool. I'm actually about to head back to Ecuador in a weeks time for vacation. I enjoyed it so much that I decided I had to go back and take my wife with me to see the country as well. Part of our trip will include a stay at these two spots. Leanimal stays at the secret garden before the race and raved about it.

I need to get the scoop from Santiago about how their provided support crew works, pre-race formalities etc. You suggest staying in the area (at one of the above, for example?) right up until the day the race begins?

Based on last year they put us up at a hostel for a few nights before the race started. They also arranged for the support crew to pick us up in Quito and drive us to the race start location. The support crew then brought us back to Quito as well.
