Discussion: crappier topos, if thats possible...

Peter, I'm not 100% sure, but I think some of the newer topos are being generated from DLG files - which have a series of elevation points (at what interval I'm not sure) which are then interpolated to generate the contours on the map.

The couple of times I've tried to play with DLG files (digital line graph), the results have been worse than useless, and I suspect that's what they've done with the newer topos.

But then again, I could be totally wrong on this....

If they are DLGs, forget it. I got a set of DLGs for Mcleans which were totally useless. Couldn't tell what was up or down. The esker ridges didn't show at all. Buy the paper topo before they sell out.
