I know I am leaving this thread a bit late but I am going to be on television tomorrow morning to promote orienteering. It is a 5 minute live spot in an interview type setting.

To prepare myself I thought I might pose some of the questions I think that they will ask me to the list and see how people respond...maybe your answer will make it on TV.

OK number 1 is obvious

What is orienteering?

2. How would I go about getting involved in orienteering

3. What do I need to bring when I come orienteering

4. What is one thing everybody should know about orienteering....

Those are all that I can think of for now...
Suggestions and feedback are welcome.

Should I make the host orienteer around the studio?

Are you going to be on Breakfast Television? Make sure your hair looks awesome! I did something like this for cross-country skiing in Ottawa last winter, it was pretty stressful

I don't think they will let you Orienteer around the studio, they will probably want to stand in one place.

I think a question they will ask will be "is this a race?"
Also think about who you'd like to attract to the sport of the people watching.
Good luck and remember to smile

Are you sure it's on the W network? It's all home-designing shows

Yes it is breakfast television. Too bad I don't get W...or any tv other than the 3 crackly channels we get with rabbit ears...

Yeah it was one of those 'reality' shows and they had a challenge during the building which was orienteering in the DV with Nina - but they never actually showed Nina or mentioned the club or the web site.

If you need TV advice then email TVP (TV Paul) apparently he has an agent.

Make sure you look smashing darling - you are our hope to increase meet attendance ;-)
A word of advice: avoid saying "heu" if you get stuck - you'll hate it when you hear it later!

I was a bit nervous at the beginning but I think that I settled into the interview. It seemed so short and I didn't get to talk about a lot of things that I wanted to but I didn't majorly embarrass myself so I am pleased.

Was Emmanuel Sandu as much of a twit as he looks like on TV, I can't believe he did something like this so early in the day.

So are we going to get 200 participants at the next WET now? :)

Atropos:
Emmanuel showed up too late to have his make up done and was being a bit of a diva about what he was going to wear but he was pretty polite to me...I have always been more of a Jeff Buttle fan myself...of course I didn't tell him that.

As to Wet numbers 200 is surely a little high. 150 maybe ;)

Can we get a link to this interview? Maybe Youtube?

Unfortunately, Breakfast television has a strict policy against clips from their shows on the internet.
