Was convinced you would get a PB, considering the amount of training you have done, but i guess since you havent rested up for this one, it makes sense(?)

btw. Øystein K. Østerbø has run it at around 8:40, (as well as Weltzien), and plans on doing it down to 8:15 before next WOC. easier said than done. Unless you are refering to some other time trial they did?

haha, you got that from the excel sheet, right?

Notice how the old-school orienteers have the fast times, where as 3 of the WOC racers are at the bottom 5. In old times, there was a common belief that an elite orienteer should be doing sub 30-29 at 10km. I still think that should be embraced.

The times I was thinking about.

mattias>> A PB is far away, even though I am training real good now, the focus is on longer distances I am lacking all kind of speed workouts right now..

naomi>> hehe, I run 8:30 in the beginning of 2010, so meaning I am better than all the norwegians then. :-)

The discussion who is the fastest I don't know anything about, lubina is probably one of the fastest on shorter if he is classified as a orienteer for that sake. On longer distances I don't know if he is the fastest.

The main thing I wanted to point out is how poor actually the Norwegians are on hard surface running, most of the other national teams I think have at least a couple that make sub-8:30.. But anyway they smashed all others pretty much in Trondheim so maybe it doesn't matter so much..

Would have said the same thing myself. They arent very impressive when it comes to non-forest running. There´s a reason why not a single norwegian has won the sprint at WOC.
