Yesterday in Uppsala there was a supersprint-- a variation on the sprint theme that I really enjoyed but hadn't seen before. The map was 1:1250 with 1m contours-- so ridiculously detailed (and quite well mapped). The controls were just the SI units (no flags). Lots of forking (you can see on the map that you went to the same control several times)- two people started every 30 seconds. It was a fun style of navigating as a few steps took you quickly past features and you had to be accurate so you'd find the SI box. It was short so it was fast but lots stop and go as you figured out the details on the map-- fast acceleration was a key skill. Here are the links for the map: http://www.dxdeluxe.se/maps/qual.png and other information http://www.dxdeluxe.se/ in Swedish. There was a final for the top three in each event which was great for spectators as well-- three butterfly loops and a shared last couple of controls. The map for the final was projected onto a screen next to the finish chute so you could see where they were running and the spectator control was a boulder they had to run on top of to punch. There were over 60 men and 50 women competing. It was the third annual supersprint in Uppsala.

On the second website, try the "Terrangbilder" option. What a great way to connect map symbols with the terrain!

Under "Anmalen", did most of you eat or bring pizza?

Results yet?

Heh, I would need extra time just finding the next control on the map at the start of each loop.

Any idea how long it took them to map it?

It took me 10 minutes to find it on Google Maps.
