Sergey:
Dear Alberta Orienteers,

I was trying to reserve a camp site for the duration of the WMOC near Stony Plain but it appears they are not taking any reservations. Could someone advise me on best camping near WMOC that will take reservations? I will greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,

Sergey Velichko, CTOC, Boise

Hi Sergey,
You can find camping info in Winfield (Qualifier day 1) here.

And camping info at Fort Assiniboine (Qualifier day 2 and final) is here.

If you want to stay closer to the event centre (Spruce Grove / Stony Plain), there are some links to campgrounds in those areas at www.wmoc2005.com/accommodation.htm

Email us at wmoc2005info@shaw.ca if you are having any problems making reservations and we will help you out.

Thanks,
Charlotte

www.wmoc2005.com link does not work for some reason from here (server down?). I would like to stay close to Edmonton but couple campgrounds in Stony Plain I called didn't take reservation. Their policy "first come first stay". I am afraid that everything will be occupied before I will reach Edmonton in July. Can WMOC organizers strike a deal with capground operators in Stony Plain to take reservations?

Sergey,
I'm not having any problems with the www.wmoc2005.com web site. Can you try again and let me know.
I'll get back to you about the Stony Plain camping.

Sergey,
We called a number of campgrounds around Stony Plain and Spruce Grove and we have listed 5 (so far)of them on the accommodation page on the WMOC web site (www.wmoc2005.com/accommodation.htm) that are currently taking reservations. Hope that helps.
