What's the deepest single snow fall you've had so far this season? Have there been noticeably more snow events than usual?

I'd say 6 to 9 inches, but I haven't monitored precisely. There seems to be a lot of variability between Cincinnati and Dayton and even a little between Oxford and where I live a few miles outside of town.

We've had above average snowfall. I think this year and last year both have had more average snow depth than normal. For sure, the snow cover thru December has been a bit unusual. For sure, total snowfall and "heating degree days" are both above normal.

The one thing I have noticed is the stability of temperatures the last couple years. It seems like we have long periods with day after day being vritually identical (and in the case of this winter, long stretches with temps staying below freezing). They used to say: "If you don't like the weather in Cincinnati, wait a day (or an hour) and it will change." I don't recall past years ever having weeks on end where the temperature seemed stuck between about 20 and low 30's without frequent excursions down to around zero and up near 50 or more. But I emphasize strongly that is purely anecdotal evidence. I have not done any scientific study of the local climate.

Just about everybody says that about where they live -- though I've never heard it said about NYC/NNJ.

It seems most of the TROL events have been in snow this year. I remember a lot of beautiful days two years ago. But not so much this year.

2 years ago was decent. Last year was pretty snowy too.
