Discussion: US Jr Team Fundraiser--Pls bid on one nght at Stowe Mtn Resort

Stowe Mountain Resort has generously contributed to the USA junior orienteering team fundraiser by donating an overnight stay for two to the "Inn at the Mountain" in Stowe, Vermont. To raise money, the junior team is auctioning the overnight stay to the highest bidder right here on Attackpoint. Here are the specifics:

Starting bid: $50
Bid end date: Sunday Feb. 13, 2011 at 10:30 pm EST
What you are bidding on: One overnight stay for two at the "Inn at the Mountain" in Stowe, VT. Good for any Sunday-Thursday from now until April 17 EXCEPT Presidents day weekend. Here is the link http://www.stowe.com/vacation/lodging/inn/
Retail Value: $205
Buy it Now Option: If you want this without bidding, you may "Buy It Now" at any time for $200.
How to bid: just type your bid and click "Add to Discussion". you may bid as many times as you want.
The fine print: This lodging package holds no cash value, is not exchangeable for any other resort product and may not be extended past the expiration date of 4/17/2011. The winner should make a reservation and winning the auction does not guarantee there will be space available on the desired night.

Oh, this is sad. I know there are people out there who ski. Are you just waiting for the last minute to see how high the bidding will go?

FYI, there is a "reserve" -- and it has not yet been met.

For those of you that are more interested in X-C skiing, Trap Family Lodge Ski center is only a few miles away plus there are several other X-C ski centers close by. And if you are into racing, the Stowe Derby (oldest downhill x-c ski race in the US), is Sunday Feb. 27th and goes right by the lodging. Of course you can't use your night until after the race but I checked and there is availability that night.

I don't ski. I don't even live up North in the winter. BUT, I know some of you do ski and you do live close enough for a fabulous day of skiing and a great night at a beautiful inn.
