Anybody know if there has been any adventure races in the US which have used epunching? I see one in August in Washington...any before this one?

We're planning to use e-punch for all CPs at the MNOC adventure race on July 9. We tried a limited amount of e-punching at the transition areas in last year's race. Despite the coarse splits, all the teams were fascinated by the ability to immediately compare splits. I think they'll take to it like fish to water.

Also, with the number of beginner teams that generally participate in our races, we need to do punch card checking. E-punch will make that a lot easier as well... basically the same reason it helps for O-meets.

I supplied epunching at an AR event yesterday - www.ex2adventures.com - and it was very well received. Had one lost epunch. Very helpful at the unmanned controls, and yes, like the orienteering community, people loved the splits.

I'm organizing the BEAST Series super sprint race that will be part of PNWOF in Washington, and it will not be using e-punching. Valerie, did you see some information that indicates otherwise? If so, I'd like to correct it.

Eric, I should have been clearer since there is also an AR as part of PNWOF in August. The one I found using epunching was COC's SIx Degrees of Navigation AR on August 13 - http://www.cascadeoc.org/Degrees/SixDetails.html
