Discussion: NA Rogaine?

The 2007 Rogaining Schedule looks pretty sparse. Any word if there is a 2007 NA Champs being scheduled?

I've heard rumors of Francois' Laurentian Rogaine possibly becoming the '07 NARC. Keeping my sights on the horizon as he puts on an excellent race! ...well worth a flight out from Kamloops for a weekend.

That would be cool - although I'd rather see a few more rogaines on the schedule in addition to the excellent LR. Are there clubs out there who just haven't posted their 2007 schedules yet? What about the SnowGaine? (If we get snow...)

There's the E2C Rogaine happening within 1.5hrs drive of the Halifax airport in late April. Billy and I are considering it if we can find a cheap flight down and there are no major conflicts.

It sounds like Ottawa will be hosting another fall rogaine, to go along with a spring adventure run. I don't think it will be a 24 hour one, but it had very favourable reviews.

CNYO almost always puts on a summer rogaine, but it's not on their schedule yet (and I don't think there are any CNYOers on AP). There's a "Snowfari" on their schedule for Feb. 3, but I don't think that's the same as the Snowgaine.

I'm not a member of CNYO, but have been at most of the rogaines for the past several years. Barb and Mark Dominie put on a great show with the Snowgaine, Regaine and Rogaine this past year. My understanding is that they will be run by another club member this year. I contacted the Dominies and other members last week about the Snowgaine - only answer I got was to watch the website. If the Regaine goes off again, it's a great chance to do a "relay" style rogaine or do one as a "lone wolf" which has been the biggest segment for the past two years. Hope you all keep CNYO in mind!

Meridian Geographics and I are thinking about putting on a fundraiser rogaine in 2008, as either the US or the North American Champs.

It does look like the Laurentian Rogaine with be the NA Champs.It will be held on 25-26 august 2007 week-end at Espresso Sports in Sainte-Adele, Quebec, Canada.

Of course others have figured this out well ahead of me...

Heard a rumor the Snowgaine is March 10-11 near Virgil, NY.

Yes, it's now on the CNYO website; will be at Hope Lake.

There are other upstate NY rogaines scheduled.

Randy's calendar, and the CNYO schedule both list:
CNYO: Regaine, Hammond Hill, Freeville, NY, May 12-13.
CNYO: Rogaine, Finger Lakes NF, Hector, NY, Jul 6-7.

Also, the tentative version of ROC's 2007 schedule has a 3/6-hour mini-rogaine at Letchworth SP, Castile, NY, on Jul 15.

I had gotten the word that Francis's event had gotten the approval as the NA Champs, but I only just recieved the event details the other day. I'll try to get it on the NA Calendar shortly..

Other than that, what's on the calendar is what I've been sent information for. Haven't had the time to go looking for the information myself...

Not sure a six hour event is enough to draw people to fly in, but MNOC is having a rogaine on August 18th. It will be in the Chequamegon National forest with terrain similar to the Telemark area that hosted National Championships a few years ago. It should be a very good event.
