Hey all,
I received this from Magic Elves (look 'em up...bona fide...Top Chef, etc,) and had a long talk with the casting director. This is a webisode, ten times in ten different cities. I think the cities are NY, Chi, Det, NO, LV, St. L, San Fran, San Diego, Atl, and somewhere else. They specifically need Detroit. And I don't think you have to live in the city to compete there. But I could be wrong.
They need 2 people per team who will (I believe) drive a new Ford Electric Focus around the city a la Amazing Race. The sponsors are Ford and Yahoo and the prizes are 2 of the cars. Three teams in each city will yield one winning team of two each. All ten teams then are invited to LA for the finals.
That's all I have. If interested, I suggest you have a team that is interesting, diverse, and over the top. They always pick larger than life people. And they want conflict between you two.
Good Luck.

This reminds me of an email I got a few days ago but then forgot about. Quite a different type of contest, but aspiring reality stars might as well apply to both.
We are looking for people with a passion for adventure and amazing survival skills who think they can go up against the best trackers in America for a big cash prize. Contestants will be on the run in the wilderness for 48 hours and only win if they successfully evade the trackers. Contestants must be US-based and submit through the attached application, which can also be found at this address:

Sounds a lot like Mantracker.
It sounds exactly like Mantracker, aside from big cash prize!
This sounds similar to a previous Ford project:

Eric & Nikolay should crash this race, driving their Chevy that they won after their big win last year.
Oh, those Americans... always copying our good Canadian ideas. I wonder if the tracker will be allowed to shoot at the contestants in the U.S. version. ;)
Eric, lets go get us some Focus. Then the car industry will ban us from any promotions they do
Nikolay, I think you two are too nice to provide the natural drama they're looking for. Time to start training your attitudes.
Interestingly Hunted TV is out of Holland. Not much wilderness there. But I had to submit an application for the fun of it.
Hmm - maybe the collective insight of this group could nudge some APer pairings to jump into this...
- Team Giggles?
- Cristina & chitownclark? oh, wait, there's a personal auto involved, nevermind...
PG & Sammy (or are they one and the same?)
In my experience with these shows, they don't cast "real" adventure racing athletes as they're not necessarily looking for competence and experience with a race setting. Not much drama there. The Burnett show "Expedition Impossible" opted to use 3-somes that probably couldn't finish most 24-hour adventure races (with the exception of the final 2 of the 12 teams they selected).
Apparently they can't figure out just how dysfunctional adventure racers are. I will say the "Expedition Impossible" seemed to be looking for real racers until the last week of auditions. Then they went 'The Real Wife's of Adventure Racing"
Yes, Randy, I also know a couple very legit AR teams that were eliminated from consideration in their final round of cuts
