Hype: "All stations are go! for the Nav-Stock Night Raid Adventure Run coming up on Friday, June 24. Course controller Mark Adams reports that "the woods are beautiful, I've avoided the few areas with dense undergrowth, so even at night the runnin' will be fine". The course starts and finishes at Horseshoe Valley Inn & Resort, and will feature 2 loops, an 11 km loop that incorporates now standard Advanced Nav and Matrix stages, and a 5.5 km loop setting up a race to the finish. As usual for a GHO Adventure Run, multiple map scales and materials will be used: "different stages use 1: 10K, 1: 15K, and 1: 20K scales, and a mix of
orienteering and AR topo maps - and of course, I'll have a surprise in there somewhere", says Adams. Asked if there were any hills on the course, Adams simply noted that there are 3 downhill ski centres on the map... so expect a physical test in addition to fun and challenging navigation. This race marks the first time a GHO Adventure Run has taken place at night, in what the club hopes to make an annual event rounding out their series of 3 races each year."
