Fun course - creative use of a small area. Well done.

yeah it was fun. It also reminded me how it would be more cost effective for southern Ontario clubs to update the existing areas we have than to look for new areas to map. I went for a cool down jog in the detailed area. There is more detail than is shown and with modern mapping standards it would make the area even more useable. I guess there is a reason these areas were mapped in the first place.

We have seen the benefits of remapping the Dundas Valley maps. A lot cheaper and better than looking for new areas.

There are many other Sudden Tract like areas that are in need of use and if money permits re-mapping as well.

Unless of course you're talking about Bolton Camp. This area is GOLD for mapping. And, so close to the GTA!

One of the (seemingly many) challenges I had on Sunday's map was the contour interval. Is 5m a lot for an O-map in SW Ontario?

Awesome racecourse, Tiny!

Gators own the Bolton Camp map which they call it the Toronto Montessori School map (since TMS bought the camp in 2000). I haven't been able to locate my copy but someone must have one from the last race held there back in about 2005. I remember that Bender was there since we attended the OOA AGM afterward and sat together.

phatty, you probably were having issues with lack of form lines. that is what I meant by detail. in some areas the map showed a hill and depression which is technically correct but adding a formline to show where depression stopped and hill began would be better. I think this just shows your nav has really progressed. you use less info perhaps until close but then are used to more info. classic precision vs. simplification

2.5m contours would be ok but given how steep some areas are perhaps overkill.

would be great to have a mapping clinic in s Ontario
