I've just accepted I'm not doing Lurig anymore. It's a great race, but like too many races, it's getting a bit out of hand cost wise.

i agree on the cost point as it's not clear where the entry fee goes. the race has a sponser, it's part of a festival which i'm sure gets funding & because it's part of a festival folk will usually hang around for the rest of the day & spend money in the local pubs & shops. but i guess it's all relative - for alot of those who ran on Saturday it might be the only £12 - 15 they spend on a hill race that month or year and they would think i'm crazy for how much I spend just on entry fees, and that really £15 is a drop in the ocean.
