This spring, Ed Hicks Orienteering Unlimited and I completed two maps in
Fairlee, VT, of three camps belonging to the Aloha Foundation / Hulbert Outdoor Center (HOC) HOC. The O-type1:5,000 maps are 2.5 and 1.8 km² but only the immediate camp areas (some 0.2 - 0.4 km²) are thoroughly fieldchecked. Excellent for sprints. Contact HOC for permission and map.

They run among many things high end youth camps to the tune of around $9k for six weeks - with a counselor to campers ratio of 2.4! HOC has year around programs; and orienteering is now included.

Great! Thanks for sharing. What did you use for a base map?

A new photogrameric plot from old areal photos + Google/Bing maps.

Sterling. They should be good. Actually they were pretty good within the areas we fieldchecked.

From here...

The Aloha Camps are located on Lakes Morey and Fairlee at the eastern-most edge of Vermont, just off Interstate 91, approximately twenty-five miles north of White River Junction, VT, Hanover, NH and Dartmouth College.

The camps mapped are: Lanakila/HOC and Aloha on one map, Hive on the smaller map.
