WCAX Burlington, VT is doing an orienteering piece on Andrew and Ethan Childs Wed Nov 21 on "The :30" at 5:30 PM. All us locals should tune in. Those out of the area can catch it on WCAX.com, looking for the Video tab for highlights of The :30.

This is great! Can the rest of us see it in real time or do we wait for it to be posted? How did this piece come to be?

@Barb---their grandmother called the station a couple times suggesting they do something like this.

We did send the station a list of suggested questions but they only used two of them. The interviewer must have had some prior knowledge of orienteeing.

Excellent!

I'm sure many APers will appreciate Andrew's first words: "It's a race..."

I also like Ethan's explanation of JWOC selection; definitely better than the written ones (that I wrote).

It took me a few days to sit down and watch, but as others said, they explained the sport well, and I was really pleased with Ethan 's explanation of how to qualify for the team.
