Midday through the tough stage 2:
"NSW Stingers (Preston & Mountstephens), who have had a dog of a night. After leaving Apollo Bay only 50 minutes behind the leaders, they caught Anaconda and Moutain Designs before they went their own way - the wrong way down a valley. They reached Sabine Falls at 2:20am having missed a checkpoint, decided they needed some time out so had some sleep. They eventually set off to find the missing checkpoint before returning to Sabine Falls. They left transition at 8:32. NSW Stingers have lost 9 hours, and many places on the overall rankings."
