Mr Wonderful:
So after hibernating in my garage over the winter, the club SI printer is producing gibberish:

Any suggestions? Some of the usual stuff has been tried, plugging it in, unplugging it. The SI box that we use to feed it communicates fine with the laptop so it seems like the printer is the culprit. Thanks!

Can you remove the batteries and put them back in?

The gibberish is somewhat consistent. What type of connection? Serial, USB....

Will suggest the batteries (it's with the first spring meet crew now). We feed the printer with the serial box, looks like this one:

First characters seem those sent out from a download station when you insert a stick in it (0xff 0xff 0x02 0x3d ...)
Try checking if you are using a station programmed in "Read SI card" mode and not in "Printout" mode.
Try also to check the station speed. I don't know what communication speed is expected by the printer, but i may be different than the one currently used.

Okay, it seems the black box needed resetting. "Baud rate to 4800" or something like that, our experts figured it out.

Have you tried turning it off and on?
