Hopefully not sand dunes... give us some good old Aussie terrain.

As I understand it, plans are a sprint somewhere in Hobart, a middle at Pittwater (assuming it hasn't been turned into a golf course by then) and a long on a to-be-determined granite/gully-spur area somewhere in northern or eastern Tasmania.

maybe I will retire before then.. doesn't really make sense to use pittwater if you want to give the aussies a good chance at doing well.... especially considering there is just about nowhere else in australia to train for it.

Although it could mean the return of the local boy captain smythie.

I like all dunes, especially Pittwater (and am a bit over always running on St Helens granite). Training camp at Cantara, anyone?

It's not a matter of liking dunes or not, it's that there is no where else in Aus that we can use to properly prepare. What other country would be stupid enough to put on a race like a world cup in terrain that you'd have to go overseas to train for. cantara dunes are tricky but quite different from pittwater.

Cantara Dunes are also somewhat thicker than Pittwater.

Yeah its a shame we don't have like terrain to train on but a big kudos must go to OTAS for doing all the work in securing the first World Cups in Aust for 15yrs.

Ive also never ran there Mikey!

Just amazed that there is a core of people willing to take on all the work that this entails. May it go well for you.

I heard you were doing the map updates, printing and landowner negotiations Neil?

Yep. I'm handling all the WC events in Victoria in that year. Thats why I am so pleased that Tassie is the successful bidder.
