The original plan for this year's rogaine on Cleman Mountain (October 5, near Naches, WA) was to host an 8 and 4 hour. Last year MerGeo hosted a 24-hour at this location for the North American Rogaining Championships. However, 24-hour events take a bit of extra effort to put on and folks seem to like the day-long events, in the 8-ish-hour range. So the 24-hour was cut for 2013.
BUT! This upcoming 2014 WORLD Rogaining Championships are in the USA! In the Black Hills of SD!
BUT! Entrants must have participated in a 24-hour event within the last 2 years!
Has this World Champ requirement created increased interest in 24-hour events this year? Should MerGeo add a 24-hour event to the Cleman event?
We took a temperature check on Facebook and did not get much response. Perhaps the local community is not interested in it, but if you are from outside of the Pacific Northwest-- would you travel to this race on Oct 5 to participate in the 24-hour?
Let us know!
Thanks!
