I think everyone had a fair amount of mistakes on this course. A lot of running but then some of the controls were difficult to attack properly. There were numerous route choices. I did not realize you were supposed to go through the subdivision at first and lost a lot of time on that since I only had a vague plan in mind at first. But the weather was great. I loved the run through the pine forest, wish I had a camera on me when I saw it.

Good point, Ken. I had forgotten about how great the pine forest leg was. We had one, too, on the red course (leg 14/15). I have run in that park several times, and it was the first time I had been down that trail. Very nice.

Unfortunately my route choice to C12, the control at the pond, used the west trail so I missed the pine forest run. There has been considerable discussion here about which was the better route choice - the west or east trail. I now think the east trail was better because it gave you a chance to see the trail system to the cemetary. I did feel good about winning (and beating Aragorn!) on the 3 to 4 leg.
