I have been using AP for a few years with my 305 and have not had problems uploading my data. Since about 1/5/2014 the upload stopped working and I get the following error. I've downloaded the latest plugin, no help. I've applied all outstanding updates to Win 7 64bitt, no help. I can still upload to TC no problem.

Garmin plugin error:
TypeError: Unable to get property 'getElementsByTagName' of undefined or null reference

I've also unplugged all other USB devices, no help.

You might see if your java is working. I had an upgrade that caused the Garmin upload tool to fail (I think). When this started working, the plugin also started working: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

Thank you for the feedback. My java was out of date, but updating it did not resolve this issue :(

Hmm, I haven't seen this happen before. Do you still get the same message when your 305 is unplugged? or do you get "no devices"?

Does this page find the device? If so, are you then able to read the TCX history from it? (reading history can take a minute or two, and it might seem frozen during this time)

When i get this, I delete all but one month from the unit and then it works! (having closed down AP and reopened) My 305 is a 2007 model.

Maybe my issue is different. It freezes on the download and then I get the message that the plug-in has stopped working.

Which browser are you using? For whatever reason, uploads (to Garmin Connect) for me work more reliably in Firefox than in Chrome (I don't get the same error, the plugin/uploads just hangs)

I'm using Firefox

I continue to get the same error if the 305 is connected or not. Also when going to the Test page I'm getting the same error:

TypeError: Unable to get property 'getElementsByTagName' of undefined or null reference

I have always used IE now running 11.0.2. I can try configuring Chrome to work.

Chrome is working now for me, not sure what changed. IE is still broken :( Thanks all for the help.
