Yes, K and Karl won by gaining a loop lead (it was an unspoken rule that a team that is being lapped can skip any leg). Clem and Valeriy were ~ 30 sec back.

Only in Balter World is this possible :)

When did you do your push-ups, btw? I missed that part.

And why didn't Wyatt do any push-ups?

This sounds fun! Can you guys explain the relay rules and also put up the maps from the weekend? I'd love to see them.

I wish we had ~ 30 teams - that would make it very interesting!
It was fun with 7 teams thou.
Anyway - 2 runners - 6 legs with forked courses ( 3 different designs x 2 forking options). The teams were build to even up team strength - Wyatt with Sandy Ahswede, Clem and Valeriy, Vadim and Rick Oliver, Tom Overbaugh and Angelika, Karl Ahswede and Kseniya, Greg Ahswede and Eric W., Chris Gross and Dasha.

If any team starts to build up a sizeable lead - than the "strong" partner has to do push-up at exchange before next leg can go – that applied to first 3 teams at any given exchange –
30, 20, 10 push-ups respectively.

There was an “unspoken rule” I conceived before this madness but never told anyone – if a team is lapped they can skip a leg.

Clem and Wyatt ran legs 1, 3, 5 and 6 as strongest, after a brutal course day before – Wyatt won in 111 minutes in 88F heat.

Well, only in Balter World anyone can be made to do the push-ups, and officials aren't immuned. I messed up legs 4 and 6 while hanging maps for one of the teams and oh man, needless to say, my little mishap led to harshest panishment by a self-imposed dictator. I was only saved by my lovely girlfried who beared the punishment with me by spliting the push-ups. Clem, you were out on the course I believe.

That is too bad, but kudos to Kseniya! We can't let the dictator get us down!
