My computer chokes on the Mills College LIDAR data! Runs out of memory. Up until now, I've had success with Karttapullautin with other areas. Can anyone munch the two tiles that cover Mills College and upload the temp folders + png files to Google docs or something? Regards, Rex

Jagge:
you can easily re-tile the dataset to the tile size your computer can handle.
lastile -i *.laz -olaz -o justaname -tile_size 1000

also Karttapullautin output doestn get much of any better after data getting past 3 points per m2, so you can quite safely thin the dataset if it't more dense than that.

las2las -i yourthickfile.laz -o thinnedfile.laz -keep_random_fraction 0.3

Do you have URLs for the .laz tiles?

Got local help, thanks! I will keep those command lines though for the next time it happens.
