A session shows as some ungodly number of km in the watch, can't see splits other than the first one in the watch, no record of transfer either to the TCX directory on the computer or to Garmin Connect (all other sessions transferred fine). Any hope?
OK it does create a FIT file, just not a TCX or a Garmin Connect record. Any guide to how I can edit the crap points out of the FIT file? It's binary.
Convert it to GPX -
GPSBabel can read them, and
GPSVisualiser might be able to do it online.
Sadly .FIT is not listed as one of the formats that GPSVisualizer understands. I have GPS Utility, it also doesn't seem to understand .FIT.
OK I
got it. The autofixed .FIT looks fine in SportTracks.
Can I publish a .FIT or a .GPX to Garmin Connect manually?
Not that I can see - why would you need to, when their software always performs faultlessly?
Yes, you can manually upload to GC. In their new web interface it is [3-bar menu icon] > Activities > import.
Throw the Garmin away and just focus on getting FIT the old fashioned way.
