They read the New Yorker in Whitehorse?
Just like those Irishmen did in Dublin with the Joyce novel when I was 11 years old and living in the Washington DC area I tried with little luck and not much of a map to find where the Hardy Boys had been when they came across a Civil War corpse. I think I concluded that Franklin W Dixon wrote his novel without the benefit of a site visit.
(My answerr to the New Yorker cartoon caption contest would be the filleted fish saying to the other "I think they weren't clear on the concept of catch and release'.)
