Despite last minute hickups it was seamless to the competitors. Radio bricks took a little while to get going. They also don't work when on the ground. One radio control stand had to be righted and a relay post was blown over by the wind.
The start was classic with competitors going out in a radius of 180 degrees. I also saw a number of competitors head out in one direction then stop turn around and go the opposite way, including at least 4 elite women. Apparently one runner went in the wrong direction for 6m before realising. Some runners decided to straight line it straight at the big cliffs!
That was me! Well done - a great event. I really enjoyed the course and terrain after that 6minute detour. Except for the small rocks but that's an occupational hazard.
Thanks. I was not going to name names
