Southern Kettle Moraine Challenge 2012 Fall Adventure Race

What: A 10-12 hour adventure race in the scenic southern unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest that will include on- and off-road biking, paddling, trekking/running and great navigation.

When: Saturday, October 13, 2012. Mandatory pre-race meeting at 6:00am, Race start at 7:00am. Packet pick up begins at 5am, we suggest
teams arrive from 5-5:30 am.

Where: Nordic shelter just east of John Muir mt biking trails, Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest - See Driving Directions for details.

Teams: Awards for 2 person co- ed, 3 person co- ed and 4 person co-ed teams. However any team configuration may race , including solos but to win an adward and to be in the 1st Basis adventure racing series, your team must be either 2,3, or 4 person co ed.

Race Distances: Appox. 7-9 miles of single track mt biking. 35-45 miles of
road biking, 7 miles of paddling, 2 navigation maps, trekking and some running.

Post-Race Dinner: This will be a great feast as always and food will be ready as soon as the first team arrives and we'll keep it hot until the last team finishes!

Lodging: Camping is available in the state forest - go to the DNR's websitefor more information. Ottawa Lake & Pine Woods are within 5 minutes of the race start. Hotels: Staybridge Suites (Oconomowoc - approx. 10 miles from race start) or Country Pride Inn (Delafield - approx. 15 miles from race start).
