The first WPOC sponsored orienteering event of the fall season is coming up on August 20 at Blue Spruce Park. Sherry Shank has designed five interesting courses for you to try: Beginner 2.1 km, Novice 3.6 km, Intermediate 4.2 km, Advanced Short 3.7 km, and Advanced Long 6.3 km. All courses will use e-punching. Member entry is still just $5. Registration and start from 11 am to 2 pm.
Pay attention to the driving directions given at the end; we will be at an unusual place in the park.
Don't forget, if you are bringing a minor who is not your son or daughter, you need to bring a waiver signed by the minor's parent (obtainable under Club Documents at www.wpoc.org ).


To reach Blue Spruce Park from US 119, Follow PA 110 west 3.4 miles to the park on Blue Spruce Park Rd. We have registration in a location we have not used in many years; do not go in the normal entrance (at the office); follow the red and white Orienteering signs to parking. Alternatively, take any road into downtown Indiana then follow PA 954 north (9th street) for 0.5 miles. Turn north on Martin Rd (route TR 488) and go 3.5 miles to Blue Spruce Park Rd.
